France election results 2024: Who is winning across the country

France election results 2024: Who is winning across the country

France goes to the polls Sunday, in the second round of a key legislative election.

President Emmanuel Macron is attempting to stave off Marine Le Pen’s far right, which surged in last week’s first round and the recent European election.

When will the French election results be out?

Polling stations will close between 6 and 8 p.m. CEST depending on the city, after which first estimates will be published, giving us a suggestion of who is winning.

Results will start coming in at 8 p.m. and be revealed throughout the night in each of France’s 577 constituencies. By Monday morning, it should be known if the far right won — and if they secured enough support to rule with an absolute majority. For that, they would need to win 289 seats in the National Assembly.

The big question is whether the left-wing New Popular Front alliance, which came in second in the first round, and President Emmanuel Macron’s centrists can thwart the National Rally’s bid for total control of the government.

Our French election results map shows who the country voted for by constituency, compared to in 2022. It will be populated with live updates throughout the night.

Tonight’s results can also be compared with the winners of the 2022 election.
